Under ORS 3.425, Oregon courts are authorized to order parents to complete a Family Law Education Program in dissolution, legal separation, and custody cases. Oregon judges routinely include this requirement for cases involving minor children.
Our 4-hour online class covers all topics required under ORS 3.425, including the emotional impact of divorce on children, parenting during separation, custody and parenting time arrangements, conflict resolution, and mediation. The class is self-paced and accepted by Oregon courts statewide.
Both parents must complete the program separately as required by statute. Upon completion, you'll receive an instant certificate with QR verification that must be filed with the court prior to entry of final judgment.
Oregon's statute uses permissive language allowing circuit courts to establish parent education programs, but in practice most Oregon counties routinely require completion before signing final judgments. Each circuit court designates accepted program providers under ORS 3.425(6)(a).
